Dramatic story of a Christian Dutch mother and her 3 children who were taken from their home in Indonesia during World War II to an internment camp in Japan from 1943-1945 along with other Dutch settlers. The father was separated in Holland. The youngest daughter tells her story of her mother’s courageous and tender care for her children and includes photographs of the camp. They were not allowed to hold worship services but made Sunday special with a meal and prayed to God every night. Every morning they were forced to bow in the direction of the emperor’s palace. She wants Japanese to know this part of their history. A5 size, 248 pp.
